Pearl Street Mall does not allow dogs, so by popular demand, we have designed a tour especially with dog owners in mind.

 

Do you want to learn cool Boulder history, but don't want to leave your fur baby behind? This is the tour for you!

 

Meet and greet Boulder's favorite canine tour guide and the inspiration for the tour, Ramblin Rosie!

• The story behind Barker Park

• Where the first school house in Colorado was built, which was right here in Boulder!

• Early mining history in Boulder and how the town became an early mining supply hub

• The many early hotels that lined Walnut and Spruce Streets

• The first commercial undertaker's office

• Boulder's oldest stone structure still standing

• Boulder's early Native American history

• The only lynching in Boulder history

• Boulder railroad history

• Where the red light district was located and why

• Boulder's oldest unsolved murder

• And much more!

 

This is an approximately 90 minute walking tour encompassing Spruce and Walnut Streets. Please obey leash laws and only well behaved dogs will be allowed. Tour guide will have extra poop bags just in case you forget!

 

Tours begin at Barker Park located at 1518 Spruce Street. 

 

 

 

Tours are offered Friday through Sunday between noon and 3PM by appointment.
